Enhancing Literacy through Storybook Creation

One of the greatest challenges is inspiring children to write and illustrate their own stories. Technology allows us to take their paper/pencil stories with crayon drawings and share them with the world by creating this story online. There are several websites that allow you to turn your simple story into a multiple page book that can be simply read online or purchased as an actual book for them to hold in their hand. This allows them to "feel" like a real author when they see their stories come alive.

Teachers need to validate their account by sending in proof such a teaching certificate, preschool/day care license, etc.
Blank books to customize as well as story starters (story sparks)
Some clip art to choose from to use for pictures but best to upload your own drawings
Change page colors and font colors
Story Sparks has prompts throughout the story to help you write your own story; filling in the "blanks" so that you provide the missing details in the story
